About Us

The Allegheny Valley Trails Association is an all volunteer, non-profit organization founded in 1990 in Venango County, northwestern PA with the mission to acquire abandoned railways in the
Allegheny River watershed for their rehabilitation into multipurpose, nonmotorized recreational trails.

The success of the group, along with partnerships with other local groups and municipalities, has grown into a showpiece system of over 60 miles of trail visited by over 160,000 people per year.
